Little Girls Room

During Miniaturia 2017,

we met Diana and her family from Canton, Connecticut

displaying their work available through Etsy at Miniature Lane. [www.etsy.com/shop/MiniatureLane]

We fell in love with her children’s bedroom sets

and worked with her to commission furnishings for our nursery

and girls’ and boys’ rooms, some featured on this page.

Diana shares that she loves to paint, especially dollhouse furniture.

"I design each set - choosing first the right fabrics

then painting up the furniture to match.

It's like being a miniature interior decorator.

I love painting all sorts of different themes and colors.

My very talented sisters help me out in the sewing department.”

Most of her pieces are in 1:12 scale, but she does 1:24 half-inch scale on occasion.

Our selections for the girls’ room include:

The Emilie Diann - an exquisite, custom designed playhouse bed that is laser cut, hand-assembled, hand-painted, hand-shingled, and custom dressed.

It's incredible

- every little girl's idea of a perfect bed for a dream room.

The playhouse features an alcove for the twin bed to slide into,

bookshelf, and integral ladder.

Beautiful hand-painted roses on climbing vines adorn the surfaces.

Additionally, three-dimensional roses made of polymer clay

have been hand-crafted and attached.

Our accompanying pieces include a dresser, mirror and night table.

Truly exquisite!

Other special touches to our girls’ room include:

the wood flooring- oak colored wood strips highlighted with walnut colored strips [MiniLAND, Victoria, CA],

hand-laid forming a houses with sun picture,

such as a little girl would draw;

a pale pink shell-patterned wall paper with pearly white borders and wainscot [Karen’s Dollhouse Décor from The Little Dollhouse Company, Toronto, CA];

a ceiling medallion [Poppets Dolly Bits, Northumberland, UK];

toys including bears and a lamb,

and last, but not least, a little girl in a purple plaid dress with matching doll.

The dolls’ artisan is unknown.

We welcome suggestions as to who to credit for her.
